A 62 year old retired vice-principal has been arrested by the Imo state police for allegedly killing his mother and hiding her corpse in his house since 2003.

Dr. Chimezie Osuigwe was arrested after the embalmed body of his mother was discovered hidden in a cupboard in his house yesterday Monday April 14th by another family member.

Police say the body of the woman, Lucy Osuigwe, who was declared missing in 2003, 'was found in a large cupboard inside a shrine in a private room in a circumstance depicting ritual practice.'

The police believe the retired educationist and devotee of the Guru Maharaji sect, killed his mother for ritual purposes. Dr. Chimezie Osuigwe is being held for first degree murder.

Commercial Bus Drivers And Conductors To Start Wearing Uniforms & Badges- Kayode Opeifa

People have been awestruck by the new law,  that will soon be enforced on all commercial bus drivers. The law states that Commercial bus drivers and conductors will soon begin to wear uniform and badges in Lagos State. Owners of such buses will also have their identities aboard the vehicles.

According to the State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Kayode Opeifa, “The transport unions have agreed on the type of uniform and the badges they will give to the commercial bus drivers and their conductors. The identities of the owners (owners’ cards) of the commercial buses will also be aboard these buses.”

The commercial bus drivers must also be re-certified by attending the drivers’ institute, where they will undergo comprehensive tests, which includes vision and driving tests.

Abuja based NGO sues Asari Dokubo over war threat

ANTI-Corruption Network, a non-governmental organisation, yesterday, filed a suit against former ex-militant leader, Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, for treason over his recent statement on President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election in 2015.

The Executive Secretary of Anti-Corruption Network and former member of the House of Representatives, Dino Melaye, revealed this to journalists at a press conference held at the organisation’s headquarter in Abuja.

Melaye said: ”This morning, my lawyers instituted a case against Asari-Dokubo, that Nigeria will be made ungovernable if President Jonathan isn’t re-elected in 2015.”

Meanwhile, Melaye has also accused the Presidency of using oil blocks to woo Rivers State House of Assembly legislators over an alleged plan to impeach Rivers State governor, Chibuike Amaechi.

Anna Wintour may have welcomed Kim Kardashian to the Met Gala last week, but she apparently banned the pregnant star's mother from attending as well.

Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner was apparently 'desperate' to go to the punk-themed event, according to a Radaronline.com source, but the U.S. Vogue editor-in-chief is said to have issued a strict ban on any further reality stars.

She apparently told staff that 'one Kardashian is enough!'

The source explained to the site: 'Anna approves every star who enters and although she finally relented on Kim, she drew the line at Kris, who was desperate to attend.

May 5, 2013 was Onyinyechi Orakwuelum’s 18th birthday.The day she became an adult and the day she allegedly stabbed to death 19-years-old Akinwale Ayobami, who she said wanted to rape her.

Onyinye, who is currently being held at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Iyaganku, Ibadan, pending investigation, narrated her story to Tribune and she said:

I am from Nkwele Ogidi in Anambra. I finished from Saint Gabriel Commercial Secondary School, Mokola, Ibadan, in 2011.

The deceased (Ayobami) was my mate in secondary school, as well as my friend Funmbi.
