Hurrah! It's exactly a year Vanessa Michaels's Blog debuted on the blogshpere. This is actually a feat that should be celebrated and also be thankful for, because this blog was born out of passion. Being a presenter/OAP/Producer of a major Tv show and top notch documentaries, Going on line was just a thing I wanted to do for the love of it and not because it is a fad. And so far the love shown by readers and followers of my blog has been ginamous and awesome; and I want to use this medium to say a very Big Thank You to Y"all who have taken the time to visit and drop your comments on this prestigious blog. I love y'all so much.

A young Indian woman was beaten to death by members of her own family and her boyfriendbeheaded in an horrific honour killing after they were lured back to their village thinking were going to be allowed to marry.

Nidhi Barak, 20, a fine arts student, and Dharmender Barak, 23, who was studying attechnical college, were killed last night as locals in Gharnavati village in the Indian state of Haryana watched on.
The pair had eloped to nearby Delhi on Tuesday because their families did not approve of their relationship.

They say according to the Orokam culture, there is an oracle called “ALEKWU” in the town which punishes married women who cheat on their husbands and also daunts people from committing atrocities.

This oracle warns husbands of adulterous wives to perform certain rituals for cleansing of himself & family lest he dies

They claim the proprietor died because he didn't heed to the warning of the oracle; so the cheating couple had to walk the town naked to cleanse the land. Jay Z and Beyonce top the latest Forbes list of “Highest Earning Celebrity Couples.”

The music superstars made an estimated $95 million between June 2012 and June 2013, according to the outlet.

They finished well ahead of the No. 2 couple on the list - Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen - who Forbes says combined to earn about $80 million in the same timeframe.

`I've not been close to a girl in 6months`-Iyanya

Iyanya has been celibate for six months.......hell, I`m sure no one believes that after the stories of his sexcapades with some celebrities. Nollywood actress, Stella Damasus in her article 'TYPE A' says life is too short and unpredictable to waste it on irrelevant and unproductive things and as such people should sit down, analyze their lives, where they place themselves and then make the necessary adjustments or changes if they are not happy with who they have become.

Here's how she put it:

Sometimes I sit down and try to take stock of my life and its numerous stages. It amazes me to see how far I have come even in the midst of the storm. God is indeed faithful to those who love and serve him.

Growing up was a bit funny for me outside the walls of my home. I grew up in a wonderfully balanced family with a lot of love and care from both my parents who were bankers, my older sisters who taught me so much and even my late kid brother even though his time was short.

• An animal control officer on disability kept 850 snakes, including two 6-foot Burmese pythons, while running an illegal snake business out of his suburban New York home, according to authorities who made the discovery yesterday.

• Richard Parrinello, of Brookhaven, New York, kept the snakes in his detached garage, all neatly stacked in containers and at the right temperature, Roy Gross, chief of the Suffolk County SPCA said.
• Jack Krieger, communications director for the Town of Brookhaven on Long Island said that Burmese pythons are illegal in New York, and Parrinello's were taken from the house to a reptile sanctuary in Massachusetts while the rest of the snakes are still in his garage.
• Gross said all the snakes appeared to be in good health and there was no animal abuse or neglect.
• "It was a well-maintained facility, it was very clean and organised, it was a business," Krieger said.
