RE: Abuja Explosion was a "Controlled Blast"- Army Spokesperson

A resident’s report about a blast somewhere in the outskirts of Abuja on the social media, sent a little frenzy. However, a spokesperson for the Nigerian Army confirmed that it was not a bomb but a controlled blast.

Mr.Olagide Olaleye, a Brigadier General said the explosion was caused by dynamites, used to break a rock that had been blocking a new road being constructed from Karishi to Apo, in  Abuja ..

Loud Explosion Rocks Abuja on Democracy Day........

Happy Democracy Day!!! Just when we are celebrating the special May 29, some part of Abuja(which is in Kurundu, an outskirt of the F.C.T) is being rocked by what seems like a bomb explosion, and someone gave an account of what it felt like; even though some people say it is a water drilling fault, people are too scared to go out of their homes to confirm, for fear of being blown to pieces.
