The bar in the music industry is about to be raised to all time high as Woli
Funke Aladewura storms Nigeria with her kind of gospel music that is
refreshingly new and nostalgic.
Prophetess (mrs) Funke Adeyeye known as Aladewura is a New York based Nigerian
gospel act doing the work of God in the US. She left the shores of Nigeria in
the year 2004 to continue the work of God she started in Nigeria. Suffice to
say here that she was called into the ministry in Nigeria before she received a
divine direction to relocate to the USA.
Apart from been a prophetess, she is equally a singer who receives her songs
divinely. Most of them are messages of hope, of better lives for the whole
world especially the African race. She counsels the world especially the rich
ones to their resources for the less privileged in the society.
The unique edge she has brought to the fore in her music is the uniqueness of her
voice that is native, unadulterated, authentic and original. Her voice resonates
to the highest pitch imaginably defying any known school of thought in music.
Her music is taken from the roots, juju with lots of flavour added to give it a
push higher than what we have around. She sings songs of old that are today eroded
due to proliferation in Christian music. This she has brought back in a unique
and refreshingly new manner.
Songs like "Jesus Jan sekeseke mi" which is the single now ruling the
airwaves both in is as old as age itself for those who know.
