PHOTO: Woman brutally assaults grandchild with hot pot, over a bowl of rice

A woman, identifed as Mrs. Bose Adebayo,  has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for assaulting her grandchild, Tope Oke, over a bowl of rice.

Nigerian Tribune learnt that the accused person stamped the victim, with a hot pot on her cheeks, because she ate the rice without her permission, thereby inflicting injury on her.

It was gathered that the grandmother was angered with the eight-year- old, and beat her black and blue.

A 42 year-old man, Mr. Samuel Omosaba was Tuesday evening arrested by the Police for allegedly beheading his three year-old niece, Adubarin Kola (See Graphic Photo Here) at Ilepa quarters in Ikare-Akoko, Akoko North East local government area of Ondo State.

The Suspect, who is jobless and still single was said to have contacted a herbalist in Ipe-Akoko for blood money.

NDDC director arrested for trying to bribe EFCC officials with N150,000 for recharge cards

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested one Roberts Obuoha, a Director in Project Management Department of the Niger Delta Development Commission, for alleged bribery.

In a a statement by the anti-graft agency , the suspect who was under investigation ,was invited to write a statement in a case of contract splitting and inflation.However,he was arrested while allegedly attempting to bribe the EFCC South-South Zonal Head, Mr. Ishaq Salihu, with N150, 000..

It seems, however, that even the pontiff has his limits.

Francis, who is on a five-day trip to Mexico, was greeting fans at a stadium in the western city of Morella on Tuesday when he finally lost his cool with some overzealous well-wishers.

Following a colourful encounter with young dancers and singers, the pope went over to greet the faithful, at which point two arms reached out to grab him.

TMZ paid $100,000 for Rice videos

According to www.kmbc.com, the videos of former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice attacking his fiancée inside a casino elevator in 2014 cost TMZ more than $100,000, according to The New Yorker.

·  Rice knocked out his then-fiancee and now-wife Janay Palmer Rice during the altercation in an elevator at an Atlantic City, N.J., casino on Feb. 15, 2014.

TMZ posted the first video four days later that showed Rice dragging his fiancee out of the elevator. That footage cost the gossip site $15,000, according to The New Yorker.

Four arrested over Lebanese man's death in Kano

Four people have been arrested in connection to the murder of a 67 year man from Lebanon. His lifeless body was discovered at the apartment on Unity road Kano state, where he shared with the suspects. 

Police reportedly suspect foul play and believe the man's room mates are involved in his demise. The suspects are currently in custody and co-operating with the security agencies.

Alhaji Muhammed Katsina, confirmed the incident without giving much in details.

The body of the unnamed Lebanese national has been taken for Forensic examination.

SAD! Japanese actor dies after being stabbed by samurai sword

A Japanese actor has died after being stabbed in the stomach with a samurai sword during rehearsals.

It was not immediately clear whether the sword was real or a mock weapon. Police said Tuesday they were investigating whether the death of 33-year-old Daigo Kashino was criminal or an accident.

Former UN secretary general, Boutros Boutros-Ghali dies at 93

He died at Al Salam Hospital in Cairo on Tuesday, an official at the hospital said.

An Egyptian, Boutros-Ghali served as UN chief from 1992 to 1996, and was the first secretary-general from Africa.

Boutros-Ghali associated himself with the famine in Somalia and organised the first massive UN relief operation in the Horn of Africa nation.

This is quite uncommon but still a congratulatory feat, because a set of quintuplets were brought to the world at the same time. A pregnant woman, named Sakira Rasaq was reported to have been delivered of a set of Quintuplets (3 boys and 2 girls), yesterday, February 15.
The University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, Oyo state was in total awe of the event. The father, Alfa Yusuf Rasaq, a Koranic teacher said mother and children are doing great. The couple had 2 children before the safe delivery of the 5 set of patter feet. All we will say is congratulations to the couple.......

Man Skipped Work For 6 Years And No One Noticed Until He Won An Award

For six years, a building supervisor in Spain quietly collected a $41,500 salary from his local government without showing up for work. 

And he would have gotten away with it too if it wasn’t for him getting an award for his 20 years of loyal service.

Joaquín García, 69, was recently fined $30,000 for the extended paid vacation from a water treatment plant in Cádiz -- the maximum penalty government officials could deliver, the BBC reported.

A male Elephant becomes infuriated after losing to a rival Elephant in a fight for a female's attention. The ginamous animal escaped from the Wild Elephant Valley resort in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan province, China on February 12, smashing more than a dozen cars parked nearby. An amateur video of the incident recorded by a witness shows the animal playfully pushing the vehicles, sitting on them, rubbing against the body work and crushing windscreens in front of their frightened owners and police officers.

BIZARRE! An unusual piglet was born with testicles in the place of eyeballs. Its photo has recently surfaced on line and has since gone viral. The deformity is believed to be as a result of nutritional issues, mutation or hereditary defect.
According to the Reddit user, Angryarcher from Pretoria, south Africa, who posted the photo online, the animal was alive and breathing but was euthanized shortly after it was born. Details of its birth are quite sketchy and no one knows where the photo was taken. The man wrote thus:

Yesterday, some made in Nigeria cars were spotted at the senate car park of the Nationam Assembly. The Innoson cars which were six in numbers included a Jeep, a van and other salon cars. For a while now, Senator Murray Bruce had been campaigning on social media urging Nigerians to patronize our Nigerian made cars. 

The call to patronize the made in Nigeria products started after the 'Made in Aba Trade Fair", which took place at Area 11 Garki, Abuja on  Monday, February 8. At the Trade Fair, Cornel Osigwe, the spokes person for Innoson Motors revealed that the company would try to get the National Assembly to acquire its cars as its official cars. Senate President, Bukola Saraki pledged the support of the senate to local manufacturers in 2016, saying Government's patronage will be ensured through policies.
