Chief Inengite Nitabai, the foster father of
former president, Goodluck Jonathan has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen,
Vanguard reports.
The 72 year old man who is reportedly the uncle
of the former president was abducted today, Wednesday, February 17 by armed men
at his residence.
His abduction has thrown Otuoke in Ogbia local government area of Bayelsa state into a state of confusion.
The septuagenarian was first kidnapped during the administration of Jonathan, 2 years ago and the kidnappers demanded a N500 million ransom. They were offered N30 million, which they reportedly rejected. It was however not known if the ransom was paid as Nitabai was eventually rescued by an anti-kidnapping squad of the police force. Six suspects were arrested in connection to the kidnap. It is however not known if the abductors have contacted the family yet.
Was he not the same man that was kidnapped last year?
