How I became running mate to Buhari — Osinbajo

Three weeks to first anniversary of the present government, the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has revealed that how be became the running mate to President Mohammadu Buhari, saying his disposition to fight corruption in Nigeria was the motivating factor. 

Osinbajo spoke at a non-denominational conference organized by the Covenant Christian Centre in Abuja on Saturday. He recalled that he had co-founded a professional a group in 1995 that upheld integrity as a hallmark to fighting corruption and upholding good governance. He also recalled that he was 24 years when his boss became the Military Head of State, stressing that providence brought them together. 

He said:   “Permit me to begin (the speech) with a story about myself. All my adult life, I have always believed that our country was performing far below its potentialities, in practically every aspect of life. “In governance, corruption was always so outrageous that it made the majority poor and development almost impossible. Law and order was always a problem, usually no consequence for wrong-doing.

Benin: Oba’s transition painful, emotional – Crown Prince

The Crown Prince of Benin Kingdom, His Royal Highness (Amb) Eheneden Erediauwa has described the transition of the Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Oba Erediauwa as emotional for him as he was very close to his father.

Speaking in his Uselu Palace during a condolence visit to him by Governor Adams Oshiomhole, HRH Eheneden Erediauwa said he is probably the “first Crown Prince in the history of Benin Kingdom that has been so close to his father”.

Oshiomhole expressed sadness at the passing of the late monarch.

And while people were obsessing about his online rants and Tiwa’s expository interview online, another shocking revelation popped up on our radar.  Just when we all thought he has two children he allegedly sired outside wedlock before he met Tiwa, hardly did we know that he has a third child, Ona, by a highly placed society woman in Nigeria.

In an exclusive chat with Pulse TV, superstarTiwa Savage has addressed the controversies and rumors about her marriage.

The singer had quite a lengthy chat with Pulse TV in which she talks about the fact that she was recently pregnant again but she lost the baby. She also adds that she knew her marriage was over for a while. She says when things started (two months ago) she didn’t know whether to keep up appearances or let the world know.

The video is heartbreaking because it confirms that the couple (Tiwa Savage andTee Billz) will probably be finding their way individually henceforth.

She talks about how she found out about the Instagram posts from a friend and how she was woken up from sleep to hear all about what had been posted on Instagram. According to her, her first thought was that maybe they found him dead. She says that when she heard that nobody could find him her initial thought was that “We need to find him. He might be suicidal.”.

She didn’t even know the extent of what he had said until much later. Tiwa Savage explains that her phones were taken away from her and she was just scared for his life.

Six feared killed as lovers clash over Kaduna lady

There was confusion in some parts of Kaduna on Wednesday following the killing of six over a girl  palaver.

The incident occurred at the Badarawa Kwaru and Ungwan Yero, all in Kaduna North Local Government Area of the state.

Our correspondent   gathered that six persons were feared killed while scores sustained varying degrees of injuries.

The Kaduna Command of the Nigerian Police Force confirmed the incident.

The EFCC also arrested the bank’s Head of Operations, Mr. Martins Izuogbe, for his role in the alleged scam, which the anti-graft agency described as unprecedented.

A reliable source in the commission on Wednesday told our correspondent on condition of anonymity that during the build-up to the 2015 presidential election, Diezani invited Okonkwo to help her handle some cash, which would be disbursed to electoral officials and groups.

Tiwa Savage’s husband accuses her of sleeping with Don Jazzy, 2 Face & Dr Sid

Tunji Balogun, husband and former manager of Tiwa Savage, has accused her of having an affair with Micheal Ajereh Collins, better known as Don Jazzy.

In a meltdown on social media on Thursday, Tee Billz , as he is popularly called, said that his wife has also had sexual relations with Dr Sid, her Mavin label mate, and Tuface Idibia.

“Please just take care of JamJam. I sacrificed my life for you and put in work and my money to your success. You are Tiwa Savage the superstar now. You will never have peace with that fame,” he said.

He posted a picture with the words “It’s time to say goodbye” on his Instagram page and captioned it with an apology to his children.

A Muslim woman claims she was kicked off a Southwest flight after she asked to switch seats because of her religious beliefs.

Hakima Abdulle of Takoma Park was flying from Washington, D.C., to Seattle Wednesday when she was seated between two men after a layover in Chicago, her husband, Abukar Fidaw, told WJLA.

The devout Muslim, who is from Somalian descent and was wearing a hijab, felt uncomfortable sitting between two people of the opposite sex, so she asked another passenger to trade seats. The other flyer agreed, but a flight attendant confronted Abdulle before she could move to the new spot, Fidaw said.

El-Rufai closes govt house clinic, redeploys doctors, nurses to General hospital

Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has shut down the Government House Clinic in Kaduna and redeployed its medical personnel to public hospitals. A statement released by the media aide to El-Rufai, Samuel Aruwan today April 17th, states that the decision to shut down the government hospital and move its personnel were taken to boost the healthcare system in the state.

The drugs and equipment in the clinic have also been moved to the Yusuf Dantsoho Hospital, Tudun Wada, Kaduna while Government House staff have been directed to henceforth use the Yusuf Dantsoho Hospital for their medical needs.

Detectives from the homicide department of the Delta State Police Command are now investigating the gruesome murder of a 27-year old graduate, Miss Ifeanyi Uti, who was allegedly killed by her lover, one Valentine Ala, who is now on the run.

The suspect allegedly lured his lover from her family house in Asa­ba, Delta State, to far away Minna, the Niger State capital, where he allegedly murdered her in a hotel room.

Although, a case of ritual killing was suspected on account of the mutilation of one of the eyes, autop­sy reports, however, indicated that no part of the body was removed.
The incident took place on Jan­uary 28 but the family did not get to know until February 6, when the alleged murderer confessed through a text message that he killed her.

 'You are truly an evil individual and we need to make sure that you are never allowed in society', .Detroit Free Press reported

Masters, 29, who was already sentenced to 50-years last month for making sexually explicit videos of children in five counties throughout the state, claimed he had an addiction to child pornography and said he had been a victim of abuse himself.

25-year-old Chioma Jonathan, a native of Obiangwu in Ngor Okpala Local Government Area and 26 year old Chinonye Anyanwu, from Ahiazu Mbaise LGA, both in Imo State, reportedly died when they were struck by lightning during a regular Holy Ghost Hour prayer session at their church, the Heavenly Sure Charismatic Church, a Pentecostal church, at Emekuku in Owerri North LGA, Imo State.

According to Sunday Sun, the lightning strike also affected the 54-year-old General Overseer of the church, Pastor Luke Nwokocha, who led the short-lived prayer session.

Narrating what happened, Pastor Luke said

“We always have fellowship every Tuesday. On the fateful day, we had our ‘Holy Ghost Hour’. We were five members in the church.

My issue with Wizkid; why I took the case to the police - Linda Ikeji

Last week, I reported HERE that Linda Ikeji had involved the police in her fight with Wizkid due to his open threat to her and it got mixed reactions from a lot of people. Some stated she was conspicuously scared of Wizkid while some said she went too far. Well….I for one  didn’t have any issues with her act. She has come out to explain why she did so. Read below:

Linda Ikeji drags Wizkid to Lagos Police commissioner

It looks like the fight between Linda Ikeji and Wizkid is far from over. A couple of weeks ago, the blogsphere was shaken by the rancor and dirty fights between Wizkid and Linda Ikeji, after she reported on her blog that the singer had been served a quit notice by his landlord.
