GRAPHI PHOTO: Man burns Gay man

48-year-old Martin Blackwell, was probably not thinking of the trouble he’d end up in when he acted based on his anger after walking in on his girlfriend’s gay son and his lover, in bed. Blackwell who lives with his longtime girlfriend and her 21-year-old openly gay son, Anthony Gooden, in Atlanta reportedly had a standing rule against any form of gay activity in his house.

According to Anthony’s gay lover, Marquez Tolbert, he had been sleeping over at Anthony’s house when Blackwell came into the room with scalding hot water, and threw it on both of them, screaming “get out of my house with all that gay”. Blackwell reportedly forcefully threw them out, leaving them to go from door to door before eventually getting help from neighbours.

Tolbert reportedly told a TV station, WSB-TV, that he suffered second and third-degree burns, and that skin had to be moved from his thigh to cover his back. He also said he was still in pain even after spending over 10 days in the hospital. According to reports, Anthony had to start a GoFundMe page to enable him offset his medical expenses, after getting out of the hospital. He also said he had been in an induced coma, as a result of the injury inflicted on him. Blackwell has reportedly been charged with two counts of aggravated assault, and might possibly be charged with ‘hate crime’.
