Bomb Explosions Reported In Kano

Reports from Kano say an explosion has occurred around Unguwa Uku along the Zaria Road highway.

A resident of the area said the Joint Task Force, JTF, has already arrived the area and cordoned off the explosion site thereby blocking the ever busy highway.

He also said casualty figures, if any, cannot be ascertained now because of the restriction of access to the area.

Another explosion is also reported around the restive Eastern Bye pass area.

Reports have not been fully confirmed yet.

Efforts to reach the spokesperson of the JTF, Lazarus Eli, were unsuccessful as his lines were continuously busy. The explosion and subsequent gunshots in Anguwa Uku was a result of a raid by officers of the Joint Task Force, JTF, on a suspected insurgent hide-out, security sources have said.

A security source said that the JTF got information of a major operation (suicide bombing) planned for Easter Sunday in Kano and stormed the hideout of the attackers very early in the morning.

They reportedly engaged the attackers in a shoot out that lasted nearly two hours.

The spokesperson of the JTF, Eli Lazarus, is yet to talk to the media on the raid, though sources said a statement will be released soon.

I will remain a committed member of the Awolowo family — President Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan on Saturday visited the matriarch of the Awolowo family, Hanna Awolowo, in Ikenne, Ogun State, to commiserate with the family over the death of Oluwole Awolowo, the Publisher of Nigerian Tribune Newspaper.

Mr. Jonathan landed in Ikenne in a chopper marked NAF 571 at the Ansar Udeen Primary School from where he moved to the home of the Awolowo’s. The president was joined in his official car by the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Segun Adesegun.

Mr. Jonathan, in the condolence register, said he was sad by the death of the late publisher and son of Premier of the Western Region, Obafemi Awolowo.

“Ordinarily, at three scores plus, one will be grateful to God,but still, this death of Chief Oluwole Awolowo is very painful to all of us. May God grant his soul a peaceful rest and let the family have the fortitude to bear the loss,” the president wrote in the condolence register.

While speaking to the family of the bereaved, the president said he was short of words to condole the Awolowo family.

Patience Jonathan Sick Again, In Europe For Treatment

Nigeria's First Lady, Patience Jonathan, is sick again and is shuttling between Spain and Germany in search of treatment. A source also expressed that the First Lady was also contemplating receiving medical treatment from a US hospital.

Mrs. Jonathan’s renewed health woes have accounted for her absence from several official events in Abuja and her home state of Bayelsa State over the last few days. A few days ago, Mrs. Jonathan made a quiet exit from Abuja en route to France where she was to allegedly receive some unspecified award. However, a source within the Presidency also confirmed that Mrs. Jonathan’s trip to France was a ploy to enable her to shop for new doctors in Europe for her deteriorating health.

A source disclosed that she left France for Spain. The same source disclosed that the First Lady was considering being moved to a US hospital today. However, a source in the US who is close to the First Family said that he has “not heard from the first lady regarding her trip to the US.”

I was asleep in Bed when the girl Snuck in- Davido explains photo of him in bed with a Random girl.

Davido was a guest on Ebuka Obi Uchedu’s show, Rubbing Minds last Sunday. And Ebuka literally put him on the hot seat as he asked him a couple of question that put Davido o a negative light. He started with the photo that went viral on twitter last year, of him in bed with a girl.
Below was what he said:

"I was asleep in bed. The girl just snuck in. I do not know her. I used to stay in an apartment back then and movement was kind of free. Maybe I didn't lock the door and she just snuck in and took the picture. I moved out to my new house which has tighter security.

Errrrmmmm, maybe we should just cut some slacks on him and believe him.

My Oga at the top; stop the rubbish - Charly Boy

Charly Boy bore his mind on the 'Oga at the top' joke and he seemed really angry with the way it was blown out of proportion. He stated thus:

It’s unfortunate, this article is coming in late. This is because I almost ignored the racket “ My Oga at the top” generated. However, because of some salient lessons in the whole joke, I have decided to hit you with this.

Even though, my ways may be very different from yours, I still believe we must be objective in our analysis, judgment, and conclusion about others. The NSCDC Commandant,  Mr. Shem’s experience in the hands of Nigerians and the Channel TV personalities cannot be too different from what many of us face on a daily bases.

Some of us have been arbitrarily judged, smashed, squeezed, criticized, and battered for several years because we have failed to be who they want us to be. Different darts and missiles have been thrown at us because they chose to judge us from the first impression they conceived about us. What insult haven’t we received? They will try to judge you by the few words they hear from your mouth. When you use signs and symbols to communicate national issues, they misconstrue every bit of it as you are either tagged the head of Nigeria Illuminati, or they may even try to put your sexuality to question. However, we still love them, and still fight for them even when they don’t really understand why we are here. Some have not even realized the need to hold on to the reality that confronts them today, instead, they are committed to producing gunpowder for the celebration of individual blunder, and they swiftly push national blunder aside.

PHOTO: A girl raped and a stick stuck in her Private Part

I actually got this last night and I've been so sick to my stomach. But from what I learned, the  lady was raped to death and a stick stuck in her private part, and she was dumped. Like seriously I don't really know what is wrong with men these days. The rate at which the female gender are being abused sexually is getting quite alarming. I'm still in shock. This is just too sad.

Oscar Pistorius allowed to leave SAfrica with conditions

Oscar Pistorius can leave South Africa to compete in international track meets, a judge ruled on Thursday as he upheld the Olympic athlete's appeal against some of his bail restrictions.

Pistorius' agent told The Associated Press that this year's world championships could be "on the radar."

Judge Bert Bam said Pistorius, who is charged with murder in the Valentine's Day shooting death of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, must travel under certain conditions. His passport will be held by a court while he is in South Africa, and he can only leave the country if he provides an itinerary of his travel plans at least a week before he is due to leave. Pistorius must also hand his travel documents back to the court within 24 hours of returning home.

The ruling in a North Gauteng High Court opens the way for the Paralympic champion, who is facing a life sentence if found guilty of murder, to run in international competitions again.
