Former British Prime
Minister Margaret Thatcher has passed away, her spokeswoman said Monday.
Thatcher was the only woman
to ever be prime minister in Great Britain.
She was nicknamed the
"Iron Lady" for her personal and political toughness.
According to the BBC, her
children said in a statement that Thatcher died peacefully following a stroke Monday
morning.
She was 87 years old.
