A 26-year-old man,
Chukwuebuka Ojei, has been arraigned before a Yaba Magistrate’s Court, Lagos
State, for allegedly stealing a Nokia handset valued at N3, 500.
Ojei, who was arraigned on a
one-count of stealing, was said to have stolen the phone in a public market at
Onipanu, Somolu.
The charge sheet read, “That
you, Chukwuebuka Ojei, m, on the 15th day of May in Alasela Market, Onipanu,
Somolu Lagos, in the Lagos magisterial district did steal one Nokia 1280 phone
value at Three Thousand five hundred Naira (N3,500) property of one Adeoti
Dauda, m, and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 278 (a) (a) and
punishable under Section 285 (1) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State Nigeria,
2011.”
Ojei pleaded that he was not
guilty.
The magistrate, Mrs. S.K
Matepo, granted the accused bail upon the payment of N50,000 with two sureties
each in like sum.
Meanwhile, a 22-year-old
Isaac Ohain was arraigned at Court 4, Sabo, for stealing recharge cards valued
at N45,000.
Ohain was also said to have
taken N61,700 belonging to one Bisalat Olanrewaju, a recharge cards dealer.
Ohai said he was not guilty
of the one-count charge.
