"The Wendy Williams
Show" will be around for years to come.
Debmar-Mercury announced on
Tuesday that it renewed the "The Wendy Williams Show" through the
2016-17 television season on Fox Television Stations. Ratings for the
nationally syndicated show has shown steady growth in recent years. The news
follows Debmar-Mercury's announcement that "The Wendy Williams Show"
would extend its production schedule into the summer months.
Speaking of the show's
success, Fox Television Stations senior vice president of programming Frank
Cicha said, "Over the last few years, ['The Wendy Williams Show' has]
evolved into the ideal lead-out to our morning news blocks. Like our news, the
show delivers a day/date immediacy that serves as a blueprint for where we want
to be the rest of the day."
Williams has a busy couple
of months ahead of her. In addition to taping more shows from her New York City
studio, the talk show host will also star in "Chicago: The Musical"
on Broadway for seven weeks. She will play the role of Matron Mama Morton.
